A study from Feeding America states that approximately 18% of people living in St. Lucie County are “food insecure,” meaning they don’t know where their next meal is coming from.
Sarah’s Kitchen of the Treasure Coast is here to bridge that gap. Since 2009, we have been feeding those in our community who are hungry; seniors, veterans, single moms, the homeless and children. One of every four meals served go to children. We have 5 locations that serve a hot, nutritious meal to anyone who is hungry. Last year, we served over 67,000 hot meals.
Sarah’s Kitchen is a 501c3, non-profit organization staffed by volunteers. Feeding 200-300 guests per night takes many helpers. Our 500 volunteers are at the heart of what we do and come from our local churches and businesses. Each day a team of approximately 30 volunteer’s plan, prep, cook, serve and clean up to serve those in need.
In 2014, Sarah’s Kitchen started a mobile feeding program with the help of The American Legion and the Salvation Army. We provide hot meals, clothing, blankets, and hygiene kits to the homeless in St Lucie and Martin Counties.
All of this work to serve the hungry in our community takes funding. We ask that you consider helping us provide for those struggling in our community with a tax deductible donation. A donation of $1,000 will feed 400 and a donation of $5,000 will feed 2000 people. Any amount will help us make a difference in our community.
Your Gift
Your monthly gift of $10.00 will feed a family of four people a hot nutritious meal of Salad, a Protein, a Carb, and a vegetable: Example; Mixed Salad, Meat Loaf, Potatoes, and Broccoli. We also serve a variety of desserts. Thank you for your consideration and your generous gift!
